Job Summary:
This position requires experience providing overall direction, implementation and continuous improvement of the logistics solutions in all phases of warehousing and distribution.
Responsibilities:
Work with management and associates to ensure implementation of new strategies and initiatives to effectively meet or exceed these requirements as well as customer expectations.
Ensure safe work environment
Participate in start-up activities with cross functional team
Participate and direct team in Lean warehousing system on the floor
Train associates in required department processes
Manage daily/wkly tasks associated with the department's processes, resources, staffing, customer demand, etc. in conjunction with VOC, VOM and MPIP
Demonstrates process knowledge, leadership skills and customer service
Resolves problems and makes decisions regarding quality in assigned department
Measure and report productivity for functional area
Ensure all verifications of errors are done in a timely manner
Maintain equipment and property: report all damages to management immediately
Requirements
Position-specific Requirements:
· Perform daily audits to ensure process compliance on Facility Appearance Program (FAP)
· Update and own, Standard Operating Procedures
· Fill in where needed
· Strive for continuous improvement
· Maintain workplace organization, (5S)
· Report any employee conflicts within department to Supervisor
· Anything that is deemed necessary by the supervisor or management
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls: reach with hands and arms: climb stairs: balance: stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl: talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
Work Environment:
The duties of this job are performed in both an office environment and a warehouse environment, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office equipment and warehouse equipment. May require extended hours in order to meet customer's needs. Travel may be required to customer locations
Education:
Associates degree preferred, experience may substitute for education
