Pricing Manager

The Pricing Manager is the pricing champion for the assigned client group or geographic zone.  Leverages pricing tools to monitor pricing and margin performance along channel, product and key account dimensions.  Authorize exceptional pricing decisions within predefined guidelines or escalate to the Pricing Officer as appropriate.  Collect competitive pricing information and communicate this through systems or defined process.  Execute harmonization of commercial policies.


Your Responsibilities:


Renew SPAs 60 days prior to expiration using published guidelines, service level agreements, and expiration reports.  Ensure SPAs are kept “clean" and up-to-date using delisted items and replaced items.  Approve prices at appropriate SPA levels.  Reject SPAs as necessary and provide appropriate feedback.
Achieve target price realization and higher prices for strategic products.  Ensure appropriate pricing parity within a market district.  Provide market feedback on prices.  Supply prices within a target index range.
3. Enter rebate programs according to guidelines.
4. Organize and participate in regular review meetings with sales and marketing focusing on pricing and margin opportunities.  Specifically:
Identify product and customer-specific pricing actions and challenge the organization
Prepare pricing and margin reviews
Track implementation and execution on the fron-lines including win-loss data
5. Provide Support and guidance for Vendavo and SPAs to the assigned client group or geographic zone.  Update, maintain and provide training to new hires on pricing ways of working and systems
Requirements Experience:

• The incumbent in this position should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Sales or Business Administration.  

Education/Training:

• 6 – 8 years of pricing experience, or equivalent.  The incumbent should have a working knowledge of the sales/marketing working environment, as well as the legality issues concerning pricing.  

Other:

• Resourcefulness, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
Thorough, extensive knowledge of all the assigned client group or geographic area sales activities (customers, customer problems, competition, etc.) as it pertains and impacts pricing.  
• The incumbent must have optimum communication (oral and written) skills.  
• The incumbent must be attentive to details as pricing decisions have a direct impact on profitability.
