Job Title:           Small Commercial Lines Account Associate

Department:      Commercial Lines

Reports To:       Commercial Lines Manager

FLSA Status:     Non-Exempt

 

  

SUMMARY

Provides support to the Small Commercial Lines Producer/Account Manager and Producer/Account Executive in obtaining, maintaining, expanding and servicing accounts.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.  As directed by Producer/Account Manager or Marketing Manager:

 

·         Marketing of new accounts, that fall within the guidelines and appetite of Small Commercial, generated by all Producers/Account Executives

·         Marketing of renewal accounts

·         Prepare the  Renewal Update; transmit to client

·         Prepare submission for marketing efforts

·         Submit submission/information to insurance carrier(s)

·         Negotiate terms with the insurance carrier(s)

·         Review quotes received from insurance carrier(s)

·         Prepare proposal for Producer/Account Manager review & release

·         Request coverage be bound

·         Perform the procedures upon binding of coverage

·         Invoice all policies

·         Update all bill screens

·         Check policies; transmit to client; update Applied

·         Maintain current Activity log; follows up on open activities

·         Prepare Acord Change Request; transmit changes to insurance carrier(s); update Applied

·         Process endorsements; review, invoice, transmit

·         Process final audits; review, invoice, transmit

·         Issue binders

·         Issue Auto ID Cards

·         Set up Master Certificates-CSR 24

·         Set up CSR 24 for clients

·         Issue non-standard Certificates of Insurance for Producer/Account Manager review and approval

·         Issue standard Certificates of Insurance (back-up to Administrative Assistant)

·         Order Loss Runs

·         Address items reflected on bi-weekly Exception Report

·         Obtain Premium Finance Agreement quotes and prepare document for client acceptance/signature

·         Process incoming mail

·         Back-up to Producer/Account Manager for incoming calls

·         Undertake additional responsibilities as required

·         Keep abreast of industry changes and trends

·         Participate in seminars and classes for knowledge and skill development

Requirements

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Hold the appropriate Property & Casualty license required (or the ability to obtain).  Minimum typing speed of 40 to 50 words per minute preferred.  Knowledge of Applied, Excel, Word, Outlook and online rating programs preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong client service and relationship building skills.  Superior presentation, negotiation and customer service skills.  Be able to read and interpret documents such as safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Possess the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.  Apply concepts of basic algebra.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Has the ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished written or verbal.  Outstanding organizational and time management disciplines with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously regardless of complexity.
