JOB SUMMARY
The Compliance Auditor is a qualified registered nurse with the ability to review, analyze and interpret clinical and operational data; including compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, and to study and evaluate key processes in locations as assigned. The Compliance Auditor performs mock state survey procedures. The Compliance Auditor reports to the Compliance Officer.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
• Independently conducts audits of agencies per established criteria annually and randomly as applicable; reviews audit findings and makes recommendations to the Compliance Officer. Reviews preliminary results of audits with Compliance Officer.
• The Compliance Officer/designee will communicate audit results to the Administrator and Vice President of the agency, and directs Auditor as to follow-up actions.
• Develops annual compliance audit schedule ; adjusts audit schedule to ensure audits are performed based on re-auditing needs and potential for risk
• Conducts ongoing follow-up on action plans as submitted by Administrators within required timeframes and follows-up on plans until resolution of deficiencies is achieved.
• Reviews with Director as necessary, policies, procedures and programs in compliance with state, federal, health and administrative rules.
• Responsible for maintaining/updating audit tool to regulatory and technical requirements with guidance of the Compliance officer
• Participates in monthly analysis of locations with Compliance Officer and VP of Clinical Support to determine strengths, weaknesses, and potential for risk utilizing software data
• Communicates as applicable and as directed by Compliance Officer with VP of Clinical Support to obtain risk data prior to scheduled audits
• Participates in continuing education as applicable
• Ensures that assigned locations carry out quarterly PI activities and submits reports and maintains appropriate methods of tracking and documenting PI processes.
• Submits appropriate documentation as required for audits, evaluations and other processes in a timely manner.
• Attains goals as directed by the Compliance Officer as set forth in the annual evaluation
• Chairs/attends committees as requested by the Compliance Officer
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains strict confidentiality of all patient, agency, corporate and employee matters
• Adheres to all aspects of the Compliance Program


job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate will need to be able to travel 100% of the time
Candidate must be a RN and have 7+ years of homecare experience
• 5 years experience as a RN and minimum 3-5 years experience in a Medicare licensed home health agency in a supervisory or PI role. Experience in auditing/activities required. OASIS and/or Coding certification preferred.
• Demonstrates effective knowledge of statutory and administrative rules of CMS and state regulations for states in which OMNI has locations; keeps current on new/changed regulations.
• Working knowledge of OMNI computerized systems with ability to review data on-line
• Excellent time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to learn, absorb and apply professional training.
• Coding and/or OASIS certification preferred
• Ability to work independently, organizes work procedures, assume responsibility and effectively supervise others with minimal supervision from Director.
• Ability to complete projects within specific time tables.
• Ability to maintain excellent, accurate/detailed written records and generate audit tools/reports relative to compliance projects. Working knowledge of Excel required.
• Demonstrates excellent problem solving techniques and abilities.
• Deals effectively with changing schedules due to OMNI location needs or travel schedule issues.
• Working knowledge of OASIS/HAVEN/HSS and/or OBQI/OBQM/CASPER if applicable at assigned location
• Viewed as a resource person with high integrity
• Displays a warm, courteous and helpful demeanor when dealing with internal and external customers
• Ability to communicate effectively across all lines of authority
• Maintains HCCA membership and 16 hours of continuing education hours in compliance
• Attends mandatory HCIN sessions as applicable to position
