Job Description

Masonicare of Newtown is a 156 bed not-for-profit Long Term Care and Short Term Sub-acute Rehab facility with an adjacent Assited Living facility conveniently located in Newtown, CT next to I-84, Rte. 25 and Rte. 34.  Closest Metro areas are Bridgeport and Danbury, CT.

 

RN Charge Nurse - Per Diem - All Shifts

Under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Manager, the RN is responsible for providing professional nursing care for assigned patients according to established procedures.  Manages charge responsibility of nursing unit and assumes responsibility for the delivery of care to all residents on the unit. 

 

Provides nursing care appropriate to the age, needs and abilities of the resident/patient including:

                                    a.)  Medication & treatment administration

                                    b.)  Teaching

                                    c.)  Implementation of the interdisciplinary care plan.

Minimum Qualifications:

  

Education:                   

Valid CT state RN license.

 

Experience:                  

1-2 years of experience required

 

 

Key Competencies:           

Ability to accurately assess and prioritize resident needs. Interpersonal skills.  Excellent oral/written communication skills. Working knowledge of computers.
