Human Resources Generalist
The Weckerle Group is a successful, family owned cosmetics company with a global presence. We are headquarted just outside of Munich, Germany with facilities in France, Switzerland, Brazil and Torrance, CA. Our facility in Torrance / Carson, CA is currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist with 5+ years experience as a HR Generalist. This position will report to the Managing Director of U.S. Operations and will be accountable for all employee relations, benefit administration, U.S. payroll operations, as well as safety and regulatory compliance within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Partners with the Management team to continuely develop and implement a strategic HR vision for U.S. operations.
- Research, prepare, manage and coordinate activities associated with establishing an employee benefit program
- Process and edit payroll bi-weekly using Time Force and ADP. Ensuring timely and accurate processing, including the tracking of overtime, sick, vacation and holidays.
- Partner with Accounting to review payroll to general ledger interface in an effort to track employee loans, advances and garnishments.
- Maintains employee personnel files with the highest level of confidentiality.
- Ensures strict compliance of all Federal, State and Local government regulations and codes with regard to safety.
- Responsible for the new hire onboarding process, including completion of all new hire paperwork, background investigation and drug screening and reports all findings to Managing Director of U.S. Operations.
- Works with third party vendors to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Investigates all accidents and prepares necessary reports for management and insurance carrier.
- Responds effectively and timely to inquiries regarding company policies, procedures and government compliance issues.
- Maintains objectivity and contributes to building a positive team environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or other related field strongly preferred.
- Bilingual English and Spanish a must.
- Minimum of 5+ years experience as an HR Generalist and/or Manager.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in conflict resolution, as well as demonstrated knowledge of EEO policy within a diverse environment.
