                                                    FAMILY LAW PARALEGAL

Gailor, Wallis & Hunt, PLLC., a boutique family law practice in Raleigh, North Carolina  is seeking a qualified and experienced paralegal to work in the firm's family law practice. Requirements Responsibilities: 

  • Draft a variety of legal documents, including, but not limited to:  Financial Affidavits, Motions, Complaints, Answers, Discovery in the form of Interrogatories, Requests for Production of Documents and Admissions, Equitable Distribution Inventories, Separation Agreements, Notices, Orders, QDROS, and Settlements.
  • Organize and index large, document intensive case files. Calendar all case deadlines.
  • Perform a wide variety of legal research and data compilation.
  • Prepare correspondence for attorney team.
  • Prepare affidavits and court filings.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including making, copying and organizing exhibits, compiling exhibit notebooks, preparing subpoenas, and managing witness scheduling.
  • Assist attorneys in preparation for depositions.
  • Communicate with clients, the courts, witnesses, experts and opposing counsel.

 Qualifications

  • Paralegal certification /degree from accredited college or university, or 3 years experience. Three or more years experience in a family law practice preferred.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Lexis research.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative for caseload and manage cases with a high degree of motivation.
  • Superior written and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure in a litigation atmosphere within a tight schedule.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles, particularly with regard to family law issues.
  • Ability to proofread and analyze legal documents for 100% accuracy.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure in North Carolina and in-depth knowledge of local Family Court procedures.
