Job Description

Works under minimal supervision to provide technical skills in operation and support  of the Dosimetry program at UTSW.  Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies and national guidelines.

Will maintain the Dosimetry program and distribution/receipt of personnel and area monitors in accordance with State regulations for UTSW, contract hospitals and clinics.  Must be able to perform basic dosimetry calculation as well as accounting and invoicing duties.  Background in Radiation Sciences is essential to counsel pregnant workers, researchers and clinicians on safe radiation work practices.  Will be responsible for all compliance reporting and record keeping.  Duties will also include support of clinical research protocol review and EH&S training databases, assignment and record keeping.  Computer skills are essential (Excel, Word, LISN)


Job Requirements

Associates degree in area specific to the position, such as Fire and Occupational Safety, Radiation Safety, or Hazardous Materials Management and two (2) years directly related experience, including one (1) year as Safety Technician II or equivalent.
