Description Process Engineer

 

Our client is a leading manufacturer of custom and stock plastic containers and we have an opportunity for a Process Engineer with overall responsibility for the manufacturing processes and their control as well as implementing cost savings.

  • Participate in job safety training and follow all rules and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Enforce and comply with all safety and GMP practices.
  • Coordinate activities concerned with scheduling and resolving process problems.
  • Conduct advance troubleshooting of equipment and coordinate troubleshooting between Production, Maintenance, Corporate Engineering and outside vendors
  • Develop & manage a process improvement plan for line speeds and bottle quality.
  • Develop & implement process training for plant personnel responsible for operating and maintaining equipment.
  • Coordinate and oversee new product start-ups.
Requirements Required Skills
  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering or plastics degree preferred (will look at experience and an Associates degree)
  • Minimum 5 years hands on experience in a Plastics Process Engineering role (preferably with plastic containers).
  • Plastics industry knowledge, including PET and HDPE bottle requirements
  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatically operated systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and MS Office.
  • Two and Single-step PET process experience a plus.
