Description

To establish and maintain Indiana Higher Education Telecommunication (IHETS) electronic and physical security systems and specifications; incumbent will also be responsible for the IHETS offered customer security services including but not limited to Co-location, Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery, Network Penetration Testing, firewall implementations, and  security consulting.

 

 

Responsibilities include:

 

Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to protect information systems, for both internal IHETS systems as well as customer premise systems.

 

Configure, test, modify, and analyze electronic, physical, and multi-layered security measures for both IHETS internal systems and customer premise systems; analyze system logs and provide problem resolution.

 

Recommend and develop security policy and procedures for IHETS internal systems as well as customer premise systems.

 

Recommend and provide technical expertise relative to specification, selection, and purchase of hardware, software, and security management systems.

 

Manage IHETS Data Center to be used statewide as a higher education Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery site; serve as primary IHETS technical representative to the higher education BC/Dr user grou.

 

Plan, design, and administer WAN interfaces to the IHETS datacenter.

 

Oversee and direct the work of the systems administrator, database administrator, and LAN administrator related to the implementation and maintenance of multi-layered security system.

Requirements Bachelor Degree plus 2 years experience or equivalent IT work experience at a 2:1 ratio, plus active SANS GSEC security certification. Minimum Experience: Two years of related information technology experience. Position requires knowledge of IT networking systems, advanced system analysis, experience with Cisco and Juniper devices, and knowledge of protocol suites (TCP/UDP, IP, etc); knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery protocols and systems.
