SUMMARY OF BASIC JOB FUNCTION:

Responsible for the management and handling of DaVita’s Property, Auto, and certain General Liability claims on a national level, including investigation, negotiation and resolution of claims.  Assists the Corporate Insurance Director and/or Corporate Insurance Specialist with the handling of large dollar insured losses, provide claim metrics and/or trending data, and acts as the direct liaison between DaVita’s Operations/Management staff, teammates, claim adjusters, carriers, and/or defense counsel.



JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·  Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university is preferred

·  Possession of Property and Casualty licensing/certificates, preferably in multiple jurisdictions

·  Understanding of commercial construction, including mold remediation, loss prevention strategies, and lease review and interpretation

·  Minimum of three to five years experience managing and/or handling Property, Auto, and General Liability claims

·  Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize, and the ability to multi-task effectively

·  Strong, proven interpersonal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow through

·  Analytical, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills required

·  Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, MS Outlook, and PowerPoint)

·  Scheduling flexibility and ability to travel is necessary

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

Responsibilities Include:

1.  Proactively manage both insured and uninsured claims for DaVita’s national Property and Auto program.

2.  Participate and/or lead claim related meetings or conference calls between DaVita’s Operations team, reconstruction vendors, claims consultants, and/or insurance carriers.

3.  Manage Property, Auto, and certain General Liability claims from inception to closure.   

4.  Document all claim activity, including claim expenses, in DaVita’s internal claim management program and be able to work within a 100% paperless environment.

5.  Manage Property program vendors and contractors and prior to payment processing ensure contractor billing is fully appropriate and in accordance with established agreements. 

6.  Attend claims audits/reviews and ensure claims are postured for expedited resolution.   

7.  Provide daily assistance to DaVita’s Operations, management staff, teammates, insurer claims adjusters, and defense counsel in the administration and management of Property, Auto, and General Liability claims.

8.  Provide training and education as necessary to internal DaVita personnel on Property, Auto and certain General Liability related matters.

9.  Identify, resolve, and/or escalate issues as appropriate for prompt and effective resolution.

10.  Provide necessary reporting and analysis on key metrics related to Property, Auto, and General Liability claims.

11.  Participate in meetings, presentations, and special projects, as determined by the Corporate Insurance Director and/or Corporate Insurance Specialist.
