Job Description

Eugene Towne founded Towne Air Freight, in South Bend in 1963 with one employee and one van. Gary "Duke" Downey then purchased the company in August 1982. The core business was local pickup and delivery service in South Bend, as well as linehaul service between South Bend and Chicago's O'Hare Airport for the freight community.

Between 1983 and 1994, Towne Air Freight opened various new locations and a new terminal facility was built in South Bend. Since 1994, Towne has expanded in the Midwest, East and Southeast and integrated air freight service throughout the Midwest, East Coast and Southeast. Towne has since grown into a full-service trucking provider offering time-sensitive, less- than-truckload shipments for both air freight and commercial companies.

 

Due to company growth, we are currently looking for Owner Operators / Team Drivers.  We are a West Coast carrier as well as an East Coast and Midwest carrier.  Will run 5,000 to 5,500 miles a week into the Midwest from the West coast.

Job Requirements

  • 1+ year of verifiable driving experience in a commercial motor vehicle

  • 1+ year as a Team Owner Operator

  • Minimum age requirement 23 years old

  • Ability to write, comprehend and speak English

  • USDOT physical within the last 30 days

  • Pass MVR and criminal background check

  • Hazmat endorsement

       
Minimum Equipment Requirements: 

 

  • 10 Years or newer
  • Must have current USDOT Inspection (within 30 days)
