Duties and responsibilities:

 

Through the proficient use of SolidWorks 3D CAD and using mark-ups or verbal instructions, prepare, check or modify detailed models and drawings.

Provide technical information on manufacturing processes, material properties and fabrication requirements as it relates to limitations of design performance for production personnel and vendors

Assist with the design process by performing stress and tolerance analysis on for fit and functionality

Perform other related duties as required

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements

Mechanical Design Engineer

 

Qualifications/skills: (MUST HAVE **)

** Extensive background in solid/surface modeling using SolidWorks

** Thorough knowledge of all drafting techniques including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and tolerance accumulation stack-up analysis

** 5+ years experience in design drafting and development of mechanical components and assemblies

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

Hands-on experience with machining small parts with tight tolerances

Knowledge of material, manufacturing processes, equipment, and capabilities

Previous experience with firearms a plus

An individual who demonstrates the right mix of experience and education as well as intangible characteristics such as enthusiasm, innovation, leadership, commitment, team-orientation and a drive to succeed. Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, articulate, and work well with minimum guidance. Must be organized, and flexible able to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities and time critical deadlines.
