Private family seeks an energetic Private Butler (Live In or Out) for their East Hampton property. The successful candidate will:
• Preferably have previous experience in fine homes
• Have complete oversight for household budgets, service levels, systems, procedures, protocols, and maintenance
• Manage and supervise domestic staff
• Assume final responsibility for the home, maintain orderly operation and meticulous appearance of staff and systems
• Act as single point of contact for principals
• Prepare and manage annual budget for the home
• Coordinate projects that involve both home and office
• Supervise all event production
• Coordinate with Chef to assist with and oversee daily meal service
• 5 day work week with flexibility for over-time as needed
• Housing can be provided
• Previously related work experience appreciated but not needed
• Understands that the utmost in confidentiality and discretion is required
• Proactive and anticipatory: a flexible self-starter who is willing to pitch in
• A superb command of the English language, both written and oral, is required
• Computer literate: thorough working knowledge of MS-Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
• Household budget experience is appreciated
• Superior process-, project-, and time-management skills
• Flexibility to work outside of strict job description parameters, thinking creatively about how to provide highest quality internal customer service
• Strong analytic, communication and change management skills
• Demonstrates poise and grace under pressure
• Low key, meticulous, personable and self-directed
• Strong interpersonal skills: able to build rapport and credibility quickly with principals, staff, security, the corporate office, and vendors
• Poised and professional at all times; Service & Show is most important aspect of this position so the Butler must be very presentable
• Flexibility to work in multiple residences is appreciated
• Must be willing to work long hours and weekends in the summer
• Able to work legally in the United States, with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Have outstanding verifiable references
• Long-term intent
