Job Description
SUMMARY: The Tax Certificate Specialist is responsible for establishing contact with property owners and collecting on delinquent tax certificates. This is NOT a Collections position.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Establishes customer contact through outbound/inbound calls
· Responsible for maximum productivity in the recovery of delinquent tax certificates
· Requires research, problem analysis, customer follow-up and written correspondence
· Outstanding customer service ethic is essential
· Manage a portfolio of certificates and meet client resolution targets
· Develops contact campaigns to effectively reach property owners
· Structures settlements
· Sets up repayment agreements
· Identifies risk management opportunities
Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates or Bachelor degree is a plus. Prior experience in servicing tax certificates is preferred. Outbound call experience is essential. Residential mortgage banking knowledge is a plus.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS: Ability to multi-task, and possess excellent time management skills. Strong negotiation and sales skills needed. Must communicate effectively (oral/written) with internal and external business partners. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Great phone and customer service skills. Basic knowledge of PCs and related Microsoft Office applications is required. Goal oriented and detail minded with exceptional organizational and follow-through abilities. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast pace, high volume environment and must be able to adapt to change. Must present a professional image and demeanor to internal and external customers.
