The candidate will support the configuration, installation, upgrading and maintenance for all levels within our Oracle eBusiness Suite Applications environment. Person must have extensive experience with Oracle DBMS 9i and 10g, preferably in a RedHat Linux RAC configuration. Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system. Will proactively monitor the database systems to establish secure services with minimum downtime. Gathers technical requirements from the application development team and implement various database patches to support their application/reporting and performance requirements. Assists in the planning, implementation, integration and maintenance of the hardware and software infrastructure supporting a wide variety of applications.  

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Work with team to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and their operating systems have high availability and optimum performance.

• Involved with the evaluation, installation, implementation and maintenance of middleware and database products.

• Responsible for problem escalation to Oracle support and other third parties as appropriate.

• Assist in establishing policies and procedures regarding performance, optimization and functionality issues.

Must Have:

• Experience with Oracle eBusiness Suite 11i Applications or higher.

•  2-6+ yrs as an Oracle DBA.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or significantly and directly related degree.

• Competence with Linux RedHat Advanced Server OR Significant UNIX experience.

• Skilled with Oracle 9i/10g/11g databases.

• Proficiency with Oracle RAC.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

• Excellent organizational, communications and team oriented interpersonal skills with a proactive forward thinking attitude.

• Ability to adapt to and apply rapidly changing technology to business needs.

• Proficiency with effectively interfacing with a wide variety of people.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Dell EqualLogic iSCSI SAN is highly preferred.

• Experience in Manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency in Perl and/or Shell scripts in Red Hat Enterprise Linux/Unix environment.

• Skills with Oracle Discoverer and/or Oracle Workflow Administration.
