Supervisor, Dedicated Service Team

Job Description

Responsible for the administration of a Customer Service Team within the framework of the established policies. Ensures that all member and providers (including physicians, hospitals and various ancillary services) incoming telephone inquiries regarding benefit questions, claim issues, eligibility, funding, check tracers, etc. are answered promptly, thoroughly, professionally and accurately. Acts as a resource for team members, clarifying benefit and claim interpretation, supporting departmental policies and procedures. Maintains positive relationships with internal and external customers. Works closely and serves as primary liaison with Claims Department, Marketing Department, Administrative Services Department, and the Flexible Spending Department. Maintains an integral relationship with groups. Monitors call volume, ensuring department standards are maintained. Ensures quality of call standards are maintained and provides constructive feedback to representatives. Ensures appropriate direction of all electronic and paper inquiries. Provides work leadership, assistance, and training to those supervised. Assists management team with recruitment, interviewing and recommendations of new team members. Identifies and analyzes operational inconsistencies and recommends resolution. Projects as assigned. Assists Management in the achievement of departmental goals relative to the Customer Service environment.



Job Requirements

Undergraduate degree and two years of call center supervisory experience in the health insurance industry or equivalent working experience. Bilingual Spanish speaking skills are required. Ability to manage the areas of responsibility and possess the supervisory skills of organizing, planning, providing leadership, developing and motivating employees to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and resolution of problems. Demonstrated above average leadership, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills. Excellent possession of tact, diplomacy, and professionalism in order to effectively handle all internal and external customer inquiries. Above average oral and written skills and the ability to carry out assignments with minimal guidance. The ability to organize and prioritize work in an environment that changes frequently. Demonstrated time management and self-initiative skills. Analytical ability to identify and resolve staff and customer problems. Experience in a health insurance field preferred. Computer skills preferred, which includes knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and other applications).
