Job Title:  Manager, Quality Assurance and Release Management

Job Description:

We are looking for hands on Manager of Quality Assurance & Release Management to manage one or more teams of quality assurance engineers and manage software product releases.  The successful candidate will have qualifications and a minimum of 5 years experience in the areas listed below. 

Experience in a software product industry is a must and experience in a Saas environment is a plus. The candidate must also demonstrate excellent communications skills (written and oral) as well as experience working in a dynamic team environment.

Duties and Responsibilities - Technical:

• Works with multiple teams in creating an overall Test Strategy & plan with a focus towards to a complete test life cycle for a software product release
• Manage and coordinate the development & approval of detailed test plans, test cases, test scripts that present the goals of testing, test systems to be used, and a final test schedule.
• Tracking & Reporting of software defect and overall software stability at project team meetings.
• Work with multiple teams to ensure all the required tasks are fulfilled for a software version release
• Must be able to manage multiple software releases being developed in an agile development environment.
• Responsible for managing code versioning through the version control software and coordinating which software version should be released into each development / testing environment.
• Research and implement new or improved testing methods, processes, tools, and systems.
• Maintain technology expertise, keeping current with evolving quality testing techniques
• Validate designed functionality has been implemented.

Duties and Responsibilities – General and Administrative:

• Proactively monitor staffing levels and suggest changes to that as necessary– hiring, training, discipline, terminations, etc.
• Mentor all QA team members.
• Maintain appropriate history and notes associated with all aspects of job function.
• Always represent the company in a professional manner when engaging the client or any external entity.
• Work effectively with the various cross functional teams, including offshore teams.
• Facilitate a positive work environment and team atmosphere.
• Perform administrative duties such as status reports.
• Participate occasionally in the sales efforts with customer presentations or customer visits.

Essential Skills:

• Minimum 5 years of QA Manager experience in a software development environment preferably in software hosted environments (Saas environment)
• Minimum 3 years of Software Release Management experience in a software product company
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on testing experience of a web based software
• Strong knowledge of a SDLC is essential
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills
• Teamwork and networking skills
• Leadership; project management
• Experience with automated testing tools.
• Experience in managing offshore QA team
• Good knowledge & experience using SQL on Oracle, MySQL databases
• Experience in Oil & Gas industry is a plus

Education:

·         Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field required
