Experience demonstrating skill installing, testing, adjusting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mobile communication and mobile data equipment down to the component level.

Experience demonstrating skill performing complex testing, analysis and troubleshooting of equipment using analog and digital test equipment.

Experience demonstrating skill interpreting manufacturers' drawings and manuals (for example, electrical/electronic wiring and schematic diagrams).

Experience demonstrating skill performing basic math (such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Experience demonstrating skill using PC-based technical application software (for example, to install, program, maintain, and/or troubleshoot equipment).

Ability and willingness to travel to various company and off-site locations.

Ability and willingness to work non-standard and extended hours, rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays and during system emergencies as required.

Ability and willingness to wear and use safety equipment as required by Federal, State, Local and Company regulations.

Ability and willingness to perform both indoor and outdoor tasks for extended periods of time (for example, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders and scaffolding, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pulling/pushing, standing, walking, and squatting).

Ability and willingness to perform rescue and first aid activities including resuscitation.

Ability and willingness to work in a variety of work environments, all weather conditions, at extreme heights, in confined spaces or enclosed vessels, in dark or limited light areas, and in noisy and dirty environments with proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Ability and willingness to work around energized electrical substation equipment.

Ability and willingness to participate in computer based refresher/compliance training.

Ability and willingness to distinguish between color-coded wires and components.

Ability and willingness to drive and work out of the Company Communications vehicle.

Must possess FCC General Radio Telephone Operator License, OR have successfully completed the National Association of Business and Educational Radio (NABER) Technician Certification Program, OR have International Society of Certified Electronic Technicians (ISCET) certification, OR have extensive experience installing, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, preparing, splicing, and terminating single and multi-mode fiber optic transmission cables using fiber optic test equipment such as an ODTR and fusion splicer AND the ability and willingness to obtain the FCC license within 2 years.

Must pass qualification test.

Must possess a valid driver's license.

Must successfully pass a Criminal History Records Check.

This position is a NERC Regulated position. As such, a background check will be conducted on the incumbent every seven years. Additionally, the incumbent will be required to complete annual NERC compliance training.

Experience demonstrating skill assisting with installing, testing, adjusting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and/or repairing communication equipment down to the component level (e.g., conventional radio, transmitters, receivers, SCADA, System Control Center Instrumentation, microwave and associated network, substation alarm monitoring, telephone and full data circuits, power line carrier, transfer trip, peaking units, oscillographs/digital fault recorders, multiple address system, fiber optics).

Experience demonstrating skill performing special studies and tests as required.

Experience demonstrating skill performing calculations relative to the operation of communication equipment and other electronic devices.

Experience demonstrating knowledge of substation entry procedures.

Experience demonstrating skill directing or instructing others on work practices.

Experience demonstrating skill performing administrative/paperwork tasks and documenting details of field conditions, maintenance, and repairs of equipment in accordance with company, regulatory, and industry procedures.

Experience demonstrating skill working with other departments.
