Founded in 1989, Pennsylvania MENTOR - a part of The MENTOR Network - offers an array of quality community-based services to adults and children with developmental disabilities, to children and adolescents with emotional, behavioral, and medically complex challenges, and to elders in need of home care.

 

Position Summary

Pennsylvania MENTOR is seeking an ambitious and energetic Foster Parent Recruiter to be a part of our team.  The recruiter is responsible for marketing, recruitment, selection, and certification of qualified Mentors (foster parents) for our clients in Philadelphia and Delaware counties.   The successful candidate will exercise initiative, discretion, and independent judgment during the performance of assigned tasks and must work under minimal supervision.

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and schedule regular recruitment activities in order to have a continuous pool of Mentors
  • Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies designed to attract potential Mentors
  • Regularly represent Pennsylvania MENTOR at recruitment and marketing events in order to recruit Mentors
  • Give effective presentations in order to educate the public about our need for Mentors
  • Responsible for maintaining the compliance of Mentors including annual trainings and certifications
  • Build and enhance relationships with current Mentors
  • Screen prospective Mentors and conducts information meetings for Mentor candidates
  • Manage the application and evaluation processes for all prospective Mentors, to include detailed family assessments, conducting initial and subsequent home evaluations, and collecting and maintaining information required by both MENTOR and applicable licensing or accreditation bodies 
  • Must achieve annual recruitment goal
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • Recruitment, marketing, sales and/or human service background is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), good problem solving skills, creative thinking and attention to detail are essential
  • Ability to work independently and plan and organize one’s own activities
  • Knowledge of recruiting and retention programs
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Publisher, is preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, as occasional evening and weekend hours may be required
