Hospice Care Options provides end of life care to individuals with terminal illness.

Responsibilities of Registered Nurse Include :

  • An individual who is responsible for the provision of skilled nursing assessment on admission (initial visit), reassessments, development/implementation/revision of the plan of care, and delivery of “hands-on” care in order to maximize the comfort and health of patients and families consistent with agency policies and procedures.
  • The Hospice Registered Nurse is an integral part of the Hospice IDT.

Requirements for Registered Nurse:

Educational Requirements

  • Possess a current license to practice as a registered professional nurse in the state of operations.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years of varied work experience as a professional nurse and preferably one of the two years in an acute, oncology, home health, and/or hospice setting.

Skilled Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver’s license in the state of agency operations.
  • Ability to either drive or have available reliable transportation and present evidence of valid automobile liability insurance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and to comprehend written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to operate computer equipment, fax, and copier machines is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule.
  • Ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team setting as well as independently.
  • Ability to work with patients and families dealing with life-threatening illness and death.
  • Ability to assess and respond to the needs of patients and families in varied settings.
  • Demonstrates skill in nursing practice, ability to cope with family emotional stress and tolerance of individual lifestyles.
  • Ability to make meaningful observations and write comprehensive, accurate reports.
