Description

Jacuzzi Brands Corp., (an Apollo Management L.P. affiliated portfolio company) through its subsidiaries, is a global manufacturer and distributor of high quality and innovative branded bath, plumbing and backyard products for the residential, commercial and institutional markets. We have an immediate need for a Paralegal to support the Vice President & General Counsel from our Worldwide Headquarters located in Chino Hills, CA.

POSITION SUMMARY

 

This position will support the legal department in corporate governance matters, intellectual property, contracts and claims administration.  This is a visible position with the corporate senior management team and will provide an exciting opportunity for the right person.  

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

This position offers a rich mix of differing responsibilities.  Paralegal should have experience in at least some of the following areas and be willing to learn the others:

  • Assist with corporate governance of multiple legal entities around the world including drafting resolutions, preparing minutes and annual reports, maintaining minute books and officer and director slates, etc.
  • Maintain company’s trademark portfolio, assist marketing team to identify name availability for product models, work with outside counsel to defend and protect trademark misuse of the Company’s famous Jacuzzi® brand.
  • Assist with litigation management and quarterly reporting from outside counsel;
  • Maintain Company contract database and prepare or desire to learn basic contract drafting for non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements.
  • Experience in or desire to learn claim handling and resolution including reviewing new claims, attempting to resolve them where appropriate and referring them to the Company’s third party administrator.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills in interacting with various departments, executives (including the CEO and CFO), and outside counsel.
  • Assist in due diligence activities as appropriate for merger and acquisitions;
  • Assist in business level initiatives as needed;
  • Being a team player and take on new and different assignments.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES     

 

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in written form, with all levels of the organization.
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated and analytical.
  • Comfortable performing time consuming, tedious tasks with the ability to manage deadlines.
  • Maintain confidential information.
  • Use independent and discretionary judgment.
  • Work well with minimal supervision understanding General Counsel works from a different location majority of the month. 
  • Be proactive and be comfortable to ask questions when necessary.

 

Requirements QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s Degree or three years of corporate paralegal experience. Completion of paralegal courses and/or four year degree preferred.
  • Claims administration and resolution experience helpful but not mandatory.
