Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

 

Manages and establishes corporate wide policies and procedures in the following areas: group life and health insurance, payroll balancing, benefit plans, records maintenance, recreational activities and corporate wide merit review and rewards systems. Encompasses all benefits administration for both the exempt and non-exempt workforce. Involved with frequent contact, and a working knowledge of the benefits, policies, and procedures.

Manages the compensation function for the corporation to include planning, developing and implementing new and revised compensation programs, policies, procedures, in order to be responsive to the company's goals and competitive practices.  Assures thorough audits, reports and personal contact that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies with local and federal regulations.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Administers various employee benefit programs, such as group insurance, life, medical and dental, accident and disability, insurance, pensions, investments, and savings; and health maintenance organizations.

 

2. Coordinates human resources procedures to initiate benefits such as pensions, disability insurance, medical and life insurance.

 

3. Initiates medical and option forms and or affidavits; arranges for their completion and submission within time limits.

 

4. Implements new benefit programs; arranges and conducts employee information presentations and enrollments.

 

5. Verifies accurate premiums statements for all group insurance policies and maintains statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and costs. Resolves administrative problems with the carrier representatives.

 

6. Researches annual lists of present, new, and former pension plan participants for all pertinent data. Submits data and documents to the appropriate committee, trustee, or actuary. Initiates the commencement of pension benefits. Maintains files of pension plan history, pension data, correspondence, reports, and forms. Initiates record keeping and retrieval methods in compliance with government regulations. Submits information to actuary for actuarial valuation of pension plan.

 

7. Prepares government report PBGC, Schedule SSA; assists comptroller's department in preparation of Form 5500.

 

8. Administers and oversees the performance management process to include accurate and timely salary changes and proper documentation processes per SOX requirements.

 

9. Assists in preparation of salary planning and other reports with Human Resources professionals and management. Assists in coordinating social activities.

 

10. Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans, which are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and Corporate objectives; coordinates implementation and provides guidance to Corporate staff.

 

11. Provides advice to Corporate staff on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.

 

12. Manages the administration of direct compensation (executive, exempt and nonexempt cash compensation programs) for Corporate staff including the processing, recording and reporting of compensation-related actions taken on salaried employees.

 

13. Develops techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data.

 

14. Supervises the participation in and conduct of both exempt and nonexempt salary surveys to ensure corporate compensation objectives are achieved.

 

15. Keeps apprised of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure Company compliance.



Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

1.      Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business, Human Resources or required

          field.

2.      Minimum Six (6) years progressively responsible experience in both

          compensation and benefits administration.

3.      Knowledge of Government and multi state regulations as they apply to

          compensation base and incentive compensation programs; company policies

          and operations .

 

Special Requirements:

1.      Strong mathematical aptitude, analysis skills and ability to communicate

          effectively through group presentations and correspondence.

2.      Strong computer skills and HRIS systems administration with ADP preferred.

3.      Proven interpersonal skills with executive levels and operations management.

4.      Ability to work in a cross functional matrix cross environment.

5.      Adept with continuous improvement skills such as LEAN and Six Sigma

         concepts.
