Job Description

Join Canon U.S.A., Inc.’s Imaging Systems Group as a Senior Software Engineer in order to plan, design, develop and test software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products.  Assisting our customers in integrating their system with Canon products will be a strong focus of this position.  In this role you will work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The requirements of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Work closely with customers to analyze and understand their needs in order to connect our product to their systems
  • Support the ISG division in developing and testing transaction/data center printing technologies
  • Make requests for changes to Canon firmware as necessary to meet customer needs to increase their efficiency
  • Assist in providing technical support to developers using Canon SDKs. This task includes assisting department support staff in situations that require particular expertise and experience
  • Provide direction for software development kit modification; provide expert assistance to the Developer Support Program when necessary
  • Manage and/or execute all phases of development projects

This position requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience of seven to ten years.  The role requires the ability to effectively present information to customers/clients while also working with clients to meet their needs.  The ability to work independently and as a part of a team is essential for success in this role.  Expertise in Canon SDK's and related technologies such as PDL is preferred.  Experience supporting development activities for solutions targeted at printing operations in data centers and those related to the transaction printing market is highly desirable.  This position will require approximately 10-20% travel.
