Description:

Direct a team of Loss Mitigation Short Sale Specialists in the Default Services Department.

Responsibilities:

Train, motivate, hire and supervise staff.

Complete quality reviews and establish staff goals.

Ensure monthly charge-off and investor reporting is accurate and prepared on time.

Analyze referred accounts to determine best course of action, giving special attention to loss prevention, loss calculations and predictions.

Review legal documents for accuracy (i.e. Deeds in Lieu, foreclosure, forbearance agreements, and suits.

Monitor account flow through the underwriting process to ensure all tasks are being accomplished within established time lines.

Analyze escalated accounts for compliance and exceptions to the modification program guidelines.

Ensure bills and invoices are handled correctly and promptly.

Requirements:

Previous supervisory or director level experience preferred underwriting and/or financial services industry.

5+ years experience collecting and/or underwriting in a variety of markets; mortgage/financial services industry experience within Loss Mitigation, FNMA, and Freddie Mac preferred.

Experience with Bankruptcy, Foreclosure and/or handling other legal situations preferred.

College degree in finance or business related field preferred.

Able to direct, lead, and motivate.

Organized and detail oriented; Strong oral and written communication skills.

Able to meet goals and deadlines in a fast-paced hectic environment.

Knowledge of the Standard Operating Procedures, FDCPA, and the legal responsibilities involved with collections, bankruptcies, foreclosures and charge-offs.

Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Able to meet department attendance standards.
