More than 12,000 customers worldwide rely on Deltek to measure business results, optimize performance, streamline operations and win new business.Deltek is currently seeking a Contracts Specialist to review, revise, and negotiate software license and services contracts, statements of work, proposals, non-disclosure, alliance, distributor, OEM and reseller agreements and other contracts pertaining to our business.The ideal candidate will have experience negotiating contacts, preferably in the software industry and drafting non-standard contract terms while maintaining a high level of responsiveness and service in handling the contracting process and other assignments as needed. Strong oral and written communication skill are essential, as is the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate should be comfortable working with attorneys, clients and procurement managers to identify critical issues and negotiate contracts. The Contracts Specialist will report to the Assistant General Counsel within the Contracts Group of our Legal department. Job Description:- Manage new and existing Business-to-Business (commercial) software licensing agreements; consulting services, training, and maintenance service agreements; non-disclosure, outsourcing, and partner contracts; and various other agreements to support our business (including suppliers for marketing, IT, etc) in accordance with established contract policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with sales, services and support to move contracts through the drafting, negotiation, and execution process.
- Review and revise standard form templates
- Interface and negotiate directly with customer and vendor attorneys, procurement and contracting personnel.
- Assist contracts team on issues and developments relative to assigned contracts.
- Review requests for proposals terms and conditions and confirm that proposals are prepared and reviewed in accordance with corporate policies and approvals.
- Efficiently manage a large volume and variety of transactions, negotiating numerous agreements simultaneously while identifying issues for attorney support where appropriate.
- Support Department administrative functions including matter management, task review and assignment, and electronic file maintenance.
- Communicate contract policy and procedures to internal business teams.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:- Bachelor�s degree from an accredited college. (NCMA or IACCM certification a plus.)
- Minimum 5 years of commercial contracting experience in a business-to-business environment, preferably with a software or related technology company. (Some federal and state government contracting experience a plus.)
- Working knowledge of contracting concepts, Uniform Commercial Code, basic international contract concepts, and public contract acquisition law and regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and outstanding proofreading skills.
- Accomplished typist, proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and the Internet.
- Ability to present information effectively to clients, colleagues and management.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Result-focused; able to work effectively in fast-paced, deadline oriented global environment for a rapidly growing public company with high quality expectations.
- Self starter and independent/strategic thinker.
