Sony Electronics located in San Diego, CA, is looking for a Business Applications Manager - SAP ECC Materials Management, to lead the IT systems development Materials Management function for new and emerging systems within Sony Electronics.
 
The candidate will liaison with key business users, identify and map business requirements with SAP R/3 functionality, assist functional and technical teams through new process design in various enhancement projects, and provide advice to the production support team on critical issues.  Responsibilities include design, configuration and testing of application components in SAP R/3 Materials Management (MM) module and integration to SAP EWM (Warehouse Management). Additional responsibilities will include business requirement analysis, design and documentation of business processes in the MM and PPP modules. 



Job Requirements

  • Must possess a BS/BA degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • Must have 5 to 7 years of related experience, including 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Must have 3 to 5 years experience in SAP Applications, with 2-3 years functional experience in MM/PPP modules
  • Experiences should include implementation, business process re-engineering, solution design, customization, integration, and/or support of SAP Application ERP packages 
  • Experience with solution architecture preferred
  • Experience required includes configuration and testing of Materials Management (MM) and Sales & Distribution (SD) modules within SAP R/3
  • In depth understanding required of material master, purchasing, inventory management, movement types, stock determination, sales orders, delivery notes, item categories, route determination
  • Experience in working with BADI's and user exits is preferred
  • Previous SAP R/3 implementations with bolt on Warehouse Management System highly desired
  • Manage consultants both on shore and offshore
  • Working knowledge of SAP Solution Manager is helpful
  • Initial responsibilities will include business requirement analysis, design and configuration within the Logistics, IM & MM modules is required
  • Excellent understanding of the integration points between SD, MM and PP modules, with an understanding between the logistics and FI modules
  • Familiarity with SAP ABAP will be an advantage
  • Must be capable of working in a fast paced, heavily customized SAP integration environment
  • Must be resourceful and have multi-project management skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to establish strong working relationships at all levels with internal and external parties is also needed
