What Manufacturing Management contributes to CareFusion

Responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Manufacturing function

  • Manage projects and project teams to drive improvements in plant metrics. Projects are primarily focused on improving quality and reducing costs.

  • Proactively develops and maintains broad knowledge of the technical disciplines in own functional area(s); applies broad knowledge of trends and best practices in a manner that ensures exceptional performance and results.
  • Collaborates with others and builds strategic alliances globally; negotiates to build broad-based support and/or persuades others in order to influence important outcomes.
  • Jointly develops practical implementation plans that consider cultural sensitivities with other accountable parties.
  • Champions and leads change initiatives; identifies the best approach for implementing strategic processes in light of cultural and diversity
  • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency while providing flawless transactions, services and products; manages monetary assets and other resources to optimize cost effectiveness.

Accountabilities in this role

The Project Manager will lead projects as assigned by the Vice President of Manufacturing Management. The Project Manager is accountable for the project budget, plans, timelines and deliverables in collaboration with a team of cross-functional personnel. The Project Manager coordinates project tasks to ensure successful solutions are implemented utilizing project management principles and best practices. Depending on the scope and nature of each project, the Project Manager:

  • Will collaborate with the following all levels of functional departments: Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Materials, Marketing, Sales, Service, Operational Excellence, and Product Development;
  • Will call and facilitate cross-functional team meetings, ensuring that all attendees clearly understand their role and any action items that may have been assigned;
  • Will possess strong leadership and influencing skills, as team members will be members of different functional departments;
  • Will provide project specific training for all team members and provide input and feedback to managers on individual team member's performance;
  • Will maintain project schedules and provide weekly status updates to all stakeholders;
  • Will assist in managing human resource activity including performance management, education/training, affirmative action and safety.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in related field required;
  • A minimum of 6+ years project management experience which must include managing multi-disciplinary teams;
  • A Certification in Program Management is strongly desired;
  • Project management experience in the Medical Device industry is strongly desired;
  • Ability to lead team toward operational objectives;
  • Aptitude to contribute to strategic goal-setting for department/business unit.
