Job Description
We???re looking for a Solutions Architect who can bring a combination of expert product knowledge, extensive technical implementation experience along with leadership qualities and a focus on work quality to our organization.
Critical to this role are excellent communication skills, experience in applying software solution development methodologies, experience with current technologies and scope estimating success.
A software engineering background is preferred.
Performance Expectations
This individual will provide technical leadership and guidance to all Services personnel working on customer projects, participate in internal and customer project reviews.
This can include development of customer solution architecture and design review. This person will be a key member of the team that shapes Services offerings and will require on-going communication with Product Engineering and Product Management personnel.
This individual will also drive the continuous improvement of processes and tools used to deliver efficient, and quality services.
This individual may also serve as the technical leader on very complex or strategic projects especially where new technology or complex integration is required.
This individual will also work with Sales, Sales Support, Project Management and Consulting Services during the scoping phase of a project and identify the customer business, functional and non-functional requirements, developing detailed written specifications, and designing integrated solutions.
Specific Responsibilities/Activities
Take advantage of the current product capabilities and planned product enhancements in meeting customer business needs
Expose technical complexities and risks associated with the proposed solution and their potential impact and offer alternative approaches
Provide visibility on issues that need further resolution before a solution can be designed
Design and document a solution along with implementing that solution
Assist in expanding the usability of the product by creative exploration of basic program exits and key integration standards
Other activities will include
Participating in technical reviews and design solutions for RFI/RFP and Proof of Concept requests
Participating with Services management on Quality Control Process Improvement efforts
Assisting Service Personnel troubleshoot and resolve technical roadblocks during customer projects
Interfacing with Product Management and Engineering for product direction and information gathering
Serve as a Technical Lead and role-model in assisting and mentoring other technical consultants
Participate with Project Managers in the development of estimates, Statements of Work, and responses to Requests for Information/Proposals
Work to access, validate, and improve the technical skill of team members as it applies to delivery of implementation and customization services
Technical Skills/Experience Required
.Net skills (VB.Net is fine, C# would be very useful)
Strong Java skills
Web skills (ASP, ASP.Net, JavaScript, VBScript, COM, J2EE)
Visual Basic, Visual Studio .Net
Knowledge of and experience with document generation products
An understanding of the benefits of Expert System Shells
Detailed understanding of the Windows Operating System along with Microsoft Internet Information Server and Microsoft Word
Experience with WebSphere Application Server and MQ Series
Strong database skills required; Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2, and Oracle preferred
Ability to install and debug enterprise applications
Ability to design and integrate data tiers and design ERD diagrams
Experience writing stored procedures
Extensive knowledge of XML and systems integration using XML
Education/Experience
Four Year college degree
Candidate must have 8 to 10 or more years enterprise software experience preferably from an engineering/architecture role
Business Skills/Experience Required
Must possess excellent time management, communication, decision-making, human relations, presentation and organizational skills
Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and leadership ability combined with an analytical and creative mind.
Willingness to travel as required ??? possibly up to 25%
