As people of Providence, we reveal Gods love for all, especially the poor and
vulnerable, through our compassionate service.
We are currently seeking a Chief Operations Officer for our Southern California
region fron South Bay to San Fernado Valley.
Providence Health & Services is further developing its physician integration
strategy. Historically, the largest asset has been Providence Medical Institute
(doing business as Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Institute), a
medical foundation that provides administrative and other support services to
affiliated medical groups. Providence Medical Institute is expected to grow
significantly in the next several years, bringing with it facilities, staff and
physician growth to support that objective. This growth will include development
of additional clinic sites within the entire PHS-CA region. The PHS-CA region
will also implement initiatives aimed at physician integration and alignment
efforts beyond PMI. Although activities within PMI will be the major
responsibility of the Chief Operations Officer (COO), this position will also
support both efforts.
The COO provides on-going leadership and operational oversight of multiple
practice managers overseeing up to 15 geographically diverse ambulatory clinic
sites with ancillary services within the Providence Medical Institute.
Responsible for the design, development and implementation of management and
patient care systems to assure cost-effective and quality operations in an
environment of constant change. Leads clinic managers, directors and all support
staff in providing operational best practices. Ensures that clinic sites provide
appropriate support of patient care and access to services, in a timely manner
that is sensitive to the patient's physical, psychological, and spiritual needs.
Will plan and develop up to 2-3 new clinic locations per year throughout both
the Little Company and San Fernando Service areas. Advises senior physician
leaders of affiliated medical groups on administrative and operational matters.
Leads or participates in PBS wide special projects, committees or task forces.
Partners with Medical Directors on matters that potentially impact clinic
provider's professional activities or performance. Represents the Providence
Medical Institute to promote strategic alliances with internal and external
Health System partners to achieve coordinated and integrated care models. The
COO performs all duties in a manner that promotes team concept and reflects the
Providence Health System mission and philosophy.
Required: Masters in Health or Business Administration, or equivalent degree.
7-10 years experience in medical group management at a senior level (preferably
with a large group and multi-site locations). Must include experience in a
