About The Opportunity
The Material Handler/Shipping Associate performs quality related activities involving shipping/receiving of Measuring & Test Equipment (M&TE); maintaining accountability of samples requiring chain-of-custody; distributing incoming samples to the appropriate laboratory for analysis; identifying and reporting any deficiencies, other lab support functions as assigned.
- Occasional pick-up/delivery of Measuring & Test Equipment (M&TE) or customer equipment. Perform pick up/delivery service of a wide range of items requiring testing or analysis from various locations throughout the FirstEnergy territory.
- Prepare quality-related documents for submission to customer(s).
- Identify and report deficiencies and assist in corrective action.
- Update the computerized sample tracking system when receiving or sending samples for testing/analysis; and various other databases when transporting M&TE to various company locations.
- Proficient use of UPS On-line when shipping items out for repair or calibration or any other reason deemed necessary.
- Assist in work of higher classification, as assigned, and perform other similar and less skilled tasks as assigned.
- Purchasing of all supplies required for packaging and shipping products
- Coordinate and process outside customer calibration requests.
- Proficient use of SAP System for tracking of unsatisfactory equipment condition.
- Create and maintain nuclear safety related and non-safety related purchase orders for calibration/repair and/or purchase of Measuring & Test Equipment (M&TE).
- Prepare quotations and initiate invoices for external customers through Lotus Notes External Work Database and SAP.
- Process Laboratory records into the FileNet repository as a record and/or document view.
- Maintain and update FileNet for spec sheet initiation
- Schedule and maintain required training for appropriate personnel using the FITS Training Database.
- Proficient use of UPS On-line when shipping items out for repair or calibration or any other reason deemed necessary, when filling in for shipping/receiving personnel
- Initiate and maintain Task Authorizations through TA Database.
- Order parts, equipment and supplies.
- Prepare equipment/M&TE in need of repair for shipment to vendor.
- Purchase and maintain adequate stock of applicable office supplies.
- Prepare Certificate of Calibrations for inclusion into the data package for the appropriate customer calibrations.
- Proficient use of SAP System for initiating and tracking Notification of Suspect M&TE documentation.
- Process invoice payments for calibrations/repairs and other Lab activities through SAP using proper accounting.
- Reconcile credit card statements for Metrology personnel and maintain company checks as needed.
- Interface with UPS/Ardmore Logistics to process payments and assign correct cost center(s).
- Knowledge of front office adminstrative responsibilities, as well as shipping/receiving responsibilities, for resource sharing in the event of absences.
- Assist in work of higher classification, as assigned, and perform other similar and/or less skilled tasks as assigned.

- Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance with a good driving record.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) Knowledge of SAP, Met/Cal a plus.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Handling, Storage and Shipping requirements.
- Must be capable of lifting at least 50 lbs.
