Job Description:
Position Location: Position can be be based at any of these Discover Office locations: Phoenix, AZ; Riverwoods, IL (Discover Headquarters) or New Castle, DE, or West Valley, UT.
This is a newly-created, full-time Training / Curriculum Designer position within Discover's dynamic and growing Cardmember Services Consumer Banking Division. This position will, in turn, be in Discover’s Training Center of Excellence. We are looking for a world-class Curriculum Designer with experience in the online banking arena. Our Curriculum Designers manage several design projects simultaneously for a multitude of functions using state of the art XML curriculum development tools. Curriculum Designers at Discover are responsible designing and developing industry-leading training solutions for both call center representatives and back office personnel who help our cardholder and consumer banking customers. This position will support our dynamic and growing on-line banking / Deposit Products business, so the candidate must have experience with instructional / curriculum design, along with consumer and/or on-line banking, and deposit products (e.g. CDs, IRAs, money market accounts, savings accounts, checking accounts). They must also have experience helping train personnel that help customers with CDs, money market accounts, and online savings accounts.

Skills Required:
To qualify, you must have:
Bachelors Degree.
3 years, minimum, instructional design / curriculum design experience, along with consumer and/or on-line banking work experience, with deposit products such as CDs, IRAs, money market accounts, and savings accounts.
Strong knowledge of banking regulations.
Experience developing classroom- and Web-based training materials.
Experience building curriculum based upon a sound understanding of adult learning theories.
Proficiency in project management tools and learning solution protocols.
Problem-solving and consensus-building skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects successfully.
Ability to solicit and give verbal and written feedback in a constructive manner.
Ability to interact with various levels of management concerning training needs curriculum projects.
Ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels to ensure appropriate communications.
Ability to lead projects within timelines and budget parameters while meeting or exceeding client satisfaction.
Ability to define appropriate learning technology, ie; multi-media, classroom, web-based, CBT, distance learning self-study classroom, self-study for results focused learning.
Ability to assess the extent to which materials meet business and performance objectives.
Creativity and enthusiasm.
Skills Desired:

Proficiency with Fiserv end-user tasks.
Proficiency with XML Authoring tools, graphics editing applications, and eLearning development tools such as Adobe Captivate.
