Field Service Technician
Support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops, network and peripherals
Install, configure, maintain, and optimize all computer, LCD monitors, network, ATM and printing hardware, software, and communication links while ensuring minimal downtime
Diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user support where required
Support and implementation of hardware projects and new technology installations
Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, software, networked peripheral devices, cabling, and networking hardware and software products
Maintain all branch hardware and equipment, including computers, LCD monitors, printers, ATMs, routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs
Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding branch hardware/software failure
Perform on-site analyze, diagnosis, and resolution of hardware/software problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware and software solutions, including off-site repair
Practice branch asset management
Provide guidance to junior members of the team as required
Prioritize and schedule problems. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician
Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting
Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization
Performing preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals
If necessary, liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors
Operate network testers and other cabling tools
Conduct research into hardware/ software issues and products as required.
Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Inspect and install cables in floors and ceilings
Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals
On-call availability as required
Traveling for extended periods of time
All other duties as assigned
Education
High School diploma or equivalent
Certification in A+ preferred
Certificates in Network + and Cisco Training desirable
Experience
3 years equivalent work experience
Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows XP, Vista and Cisco
Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Office
Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
Understanding of the organization's goals and objectives
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
