Colgate-Palmolive is currently recruiting for a Oral Care Device Manufacturing Technology Engineer, located in Piscataway, New Jersey.
The Oral Care Device Manufacturing Technology Engineer will be the project leader for new oral care devices and packages developed by the Global Toothbrush Division. Expertise is required in multi component injection mold design and plastics processing, conventional and anchor free tufting, thermoforming (FFS), secondary packaging technologies and equipment, robotics and parts assembly technologies.
He/She will also provide technical leadership for the development of manufacturing systems for new oral care devices. Included are manual, sonic and power toothbrushes as well as adjacencies such as floss, interdental brushes, on the go, and device plus chemistry products.
Daily responsibilities include the following:
- Interface and coordinate project work with Global Toothbrush Division (GTD) Commercial, R&D, Network Operations, as well as suppliers, CP manufacturing sites and contract manufacturers
- Capital cost development, equipment purchasing and cost tracking
- Equipment development, specifications, qualifications, training and start-up
- Timeline and project management using MS Project
- Product and packaging design for manufacturability
- Capital (CEB) and Project budgetary responsibility; order of magnitude estimates, budget and capital work order (eMWO) estimates. Work order preparation, monthly cash tracking, forecasting and presentations summaries/exhibits.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree with an Engineering Discipline/Major is required
- Must have a minimum of 10 years of hands-on functional experience
- Experience with Capital cost development, equipment purchasing and cost tracking
- Experience with molding, toothbrush, assembly and packaging equipment development, specifications, qualifications, training and start-up
- Expertise is required in multi component injection mold design and plastics processing, conventional and anchor free tufting, thermoforming (FFS), secondary packaging technologies and equipment, robotics and parts assembly technologies
- Familiarity with toothbrush manufacturing quality systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Minimum of 7 years of Consumer Goods Industry experience is desired
- 5 years or more of Toothbrush Manufacturing experience
