EICO Specialist IV


Your Role

ATK is seeking a senior Export/Import Control Officer (EICO) in San Diego, California. This position provides support to the Space Structures & Components (SS&C) business lane within the Space Systems Group.The position will be responsible for integrating export and import regulations into business processes, ensuring business locations full compliance with export regulations, and providing direct supervisory guidance for multiple business locations. This is a visible role within the organization.
Specific areas of responsibilities will include:
Interprets government export/import regulations including: the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) and communication from the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), U.S. Customs, and other applicable government agencies.
Provides comprehensive export/import support to the organization; initiating strategies, programs, processes and tools to meet critical business challenges.
Support other location EICOs, corporate export/import departments, and legal counsel to meet the companys changing business strategies and goals.
Acts as liaison between levels of management, other EICOs, and outside service providers to produce export/import services that meet business needs.
Oversee the licensing process and review of agreements for business locations prior to submission to the Empowered Officials.
Prepare materials and assist in conducting training on regulatory compliance with all relevant departments throughout the organization.
Conduct assessments at each of the supported business lane Group sites.
Exercise independent judgment in determining procedural weaknesses and making adjustments to maintain compliance. Work collaboratively with location and Group EICOs, Supply Chain Management, Program Management, Contract Management and Business Development teams to deliver solutions to international programs and strategies.
Make formal presentations in meetings, training environments and respond to questions from management, employees, customers and vendors.
Negotiate export/import control issues with internal and external customers and resolve issues in a win/win manner.
Mentor EICOs at all the supported locations.
Interface and coordinate with Group EICO/Legal for over-all export/import efforts within business locations, including licensing loads, needed procedural or tool changes, compliance investigations, etc.
Required Skills:
U.S. Citizen
B.S. or B.A. required
Must have a minimum of four years of experience with import/export controls.
Must Have Strong project management, leadership and commitment to integrity and professionalism.
