Senior Environmental Coordinator The Kensington Gold

Coeur Alaska is recruiting a Senior Environmental Coordinator for its Kensington Gold Mine, presently under construction, located 45 miles north of Juneau, Alaska.

Responsibilities:
*Responsible for assuring construction and operations activities are completed in accordance with permit conditions, regulatory requirements and approved plans.
*Responsible for ensuring a safe workplace while supporting environmental policies and regulations.
*Preparation of monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual reports. Assists with updating plans and studies related to environmental compliance.
*Development and implementation of an electronic environmental management system.
*Prepares and provides Environmental Training to site contractors; and provides expertise in environmental science & engineering.
*Performs special projects and provides input to management regarding regulatory requirements, cost effective means of meeting regulatory requirements, and cost of environmental-related tasks/projects.

Experience:
A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or related science field plus 5 years of directly related experience preferred. Solid computer skills required. Experience in coordinating mine site environmental programs and a working knowledge of Alaska state and federal regulatory programs is essential. Candidates should be able to work independently and to accept responsibility, communicate effectively, orally and in writing, get along with diverse personalities, be tactful, mature and flexible. Good reasoning skills, being well organized, and the ability to work well under pressure are desired.
