Job Description 

The purpose of this position is to manage all of the cylinder inventory at a customer site to optimize inventory and streamline delivery schedules from the plant to the customer locations in the facility. The position requires full time attendance at the customer site. The primary function of the position is to safely manage the cylinder inventory at a facility large enough to warrant full time cylinder management. The goal of the position is to assist and maintain the reduction of cylinder inventory at a customer site while assuring no interruption in service.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  1. Cylinder ordering including plant communication and coordination as well as on site management of existing local inventories and remote locations within facility. Gases included are medical grade as well as lab gases. Requires knowledge of CGA as well as DOT and others.
  2. Cylinder disbursement including proper cylinder handling as required by NFPA 99 chapter 9. Requires heavy physical lifting, pushing and pulling. Cylinder size and weight varies from 10lbs to 500 lbs (Dewar's).
  3. Cylinder retrieval including proper cylinder handling as required by NFPA 99 chapter 9. Requires heavy physical lifting, pushing and pulling. Cylinder size and weight varies from 10 lbs to 500 lbs.
  4. Cylinder billing including plant communication and CU interaction
  5. Customer interaction including facility support personnel, clinical staff and on occasion facility administrators.
  6. CU entry and selection.
  7. Inventory management of all in use and depleted cylinders. Management of cylinders on patient floors is critical to meet environment of care requirements.

Special Requirements:

 

In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: Move heavy loads on a routine basis including carts on wheels which maintain weights up to 1200 lbs, repetitive lifting of cylinders up to 20 lbs.

 


Job Requirements 

Minimum of an Associates degree or military equivalent in a technical field or other equivalent competencies. Mechanical or electrical service background is necessary.
