Description:

Mixer Operator

Volt Workforce Solutions has a Temp-to-Hire position available for a Mixer Operator to work in the Mixing Department.

SUMMARY

The Mixer Operator:

  • Reads specifications to determine batch characteristics, type and weight of ingredients to be used.
  • Selects and weighs industrial, automotive and special lubricating oils and additives, for example:

    • Antioxidants
    • Corrosion inhibitors
    • Detergents
    • Dispersants
    • Point foam inhibitors
    • Viscosity-index improvers


  • Starts equipment and adjusts temperature, time and speed controls to blend ingredients, adding additional ingredients during blending cycle as specified.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Mixer Operator:

  • Reviews daily coating schedules for products that require adhesive systems.
  • Determines the proper adhesive and volume needed for each scheduled product.
  • Determines if the adhesive is in inventory or needs to be made.
  • Selects batch sheets and follows directions for making adhesive batches.
  • Uses proper safety gear at all times.
  • Uses computer, scales, balances and pH meter.
  • In conjunction with the QA Lab, is responsible for accepting or rejecting tanker trucks of raw materials.
  • Brings samples of adhesives to QA Lab for approval.
  • Handles Ammonia according to WI 4003.
  • Keeps mixing equipment clean and functioning properly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Continuous presence of moving mechanical machinery such as forklifts, rotating rolls, belts and pneumatic arms, lifts and jacks
  • Constant but not excessive noise
  • Heat, at times around 100ºF during summertime
  • Constant exposure to adhesives and chemical fumes, as well as water-based acrylics and latex

This is a Contract to Direct Hire position, through Volt Workforce Solutions - a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, based in Woodbridge, NJ. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support most of the top rated IT companies on the East Coast.



Requirements:

Required Skills for this Mixer Operator position include the following:

  • High school diploma or General Education degree (GED); or 1-3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
