Job Description 

Key Role:
Provide technical project management expertise in support of a government team accountable for the effective and responsible application of science and technology funding toward Joint Military communications and wireless networking capability development. Interface with government management and technical staff to determine technology needs, assist government engineering staff with documenting technology requirements, develop strategies for short- and long-term technology insertion into existing communications product acquisition programs, and track and coordinate data calls and documentation statuses. Visit and interface with technology vendors, attend Military communications and professional technology conferences, and perform schedule and technical analyses of vendor projects to identify benefits, risks, and technology maturity. Attend weekly management meetings and create Microsoft PowerPoint slides and associated talking notes suitable for presentation to government or industry senior management. Create detailed and summary reports suitable for engineering staff or government management audiences and perform other technical and management duties to support the team. This position is located in San Diego, CA.

 



Job Requirements 

Basic Qualifications:
-8+ years experience in the design and implementation of communication networks, military wireless communications (line of sight and satellite), and software engineering
-2+ years experience working at a DoD acquisition command program office or laboratory; or in a  Government-interface role at a DoD contractor firm
-Secret clearance
-BA or BS degree 
 
Additional Qualifications:
-Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level II certification (or equivalent qualification), preferably in acquisition, systems engineering, or science & technology; or Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate
-Excellent people and oral communication skills
-Excellent multi-tasking capability
-Excellent writing and presentation skills

-or previous holder of a Top Secret clearance
-BS/BA Degree  in Engineering or Physics. Electrical Engineering degree with emphasis in network and wireless communications preferred 
 
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
