Job Description

Kaplan PMBR, the Bar Review division of Kaplan Test Prep, has an opening for an Academic Director, leading the development and delivery of our national bar review programs. This position operates as the program owner and public face of the product for varying local and national course offerings and participates in defining overall program strategy. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self starter with a background in law and academics looking to take the next step in their career.

Responsibilities include:

  • Hiring, management, training and supervision of freelance law school faculty members
  • Participation in development of course curriculum and content
  • Serve as a resource to students in bar review classes
  • Manage the assimilation of new course materials into curriculum, as well as the dissemination of information about course updates
  • Teach as part of program (if needed)

Job Requirements:
  • JD required
  • Teaching experience or other academic background (prior law school teaching experience or bar preparation experience a plus)
  • Ability to analyze students needs and develop curriculum to meet them
  • Strong interpersonal skills & an ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Up to 25% travel may be required
