The VP of OD is responsible for partnering with the HRBP’s, HR Center of Excellence Leaders and Business Leaders to identify, prioritize, and create culturally and organizationally appropriate solutions to address organizational effectiveness issues, lead efforts to create company wide core competencies and consistent approaches to performance management, develop best practices that will reward and sustain positive behaviors and outcomes, enhance employee engagement and reinforce and support company values, creating a strong organizational culture that supports a sustainable competitive advantage.
Partner with HC leadership on the strategy, analysis, design and tactical deployment of the firm’s talent management process, organizational effectiveness strategies, and retention programs.
Lead the design and deployment of the firm’s annual employee engagement survey process; support the creation and deployment of impactful action plans that enhance engagement across the firm.
Work closely with Human Resource Partners to evolve the firm’s performance management process, including defining and communicating the company’s title and promotion structure.
Lead the continual enhancement and deployment of the firm’s career development strategy, process, tools and resources.
Lead and participate in special and cross-functional project teams and assignments as necessary.
Lead facilitation, training, team building and intervention upon request (including being a resource for deploying large scale human capital initiatives).
Stay apprised of the latest research and tools focused on improving productivity, retention and employee engagement, and integrate that information into recommended solutions for the firm
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) Proficient in Strategic OD practices such as Diagnosis and Discovery, Design and Delivery of Interventions, Knowledge of OD methods and models, Change Mgmt, Performance Mgmt, Teaming Effectiveness models and skills, Business Partnering, and Project Management. Experience in the financial services industry preferred.
Minimum Experience Required: (including years of experience) 8-10 years years professional level experience in Human Capital with a minimum of 5 years in an OD role.
Ability to effectively engage, consultant and influence senior executives
Ability to move from strategic to tactical seamlessly
Ability to execute in a fast paced, changing and matrixed environment
Strong diagnosis and perspective skills to understand changing needs of firm
Ability to quickly adapt and execute to changing needs of the firm
Ability to flex between classic leadership/employee development assessment and training design/deployment and organizational effectiveness (curriculum design and connection to OD and HR programs)
Experience working in a shared service HR delivery model
Software/Systems Skills Required/Preferred: Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
Typically will interact with senior management; all levels of management, as well as employees. Will regularly partner with other areas of Human Capital including Compensation and Benefits, Payroll, Organizational Development & Training, Employee Recruiting and Real Estate/Facilities. May interface with external vendors.
Must be extremely organized, self-motivated, and capable of working in a rapidly changing environment with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management.
Must have a professional demeanor and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times when dealing with personnel matters.
Successful candidates will possess superior consultative and influencing skills, superior verbal/written communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills, project management skills.
Ability to multi-task, work on multiple priorities, work independently and as a team in an ambiguous and dynamic environment.
