Responsibilities Hydraulic Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities for the Aerospace Engineer include but are not limited to
  • Advises on problems maintaining aircraft hydraulic systems and SE.
  • Determines maintenance procedures and performance characteristics using technical publications.
  • Diagnoses malfunctions and recommends corrective action.
  • Performs maintenance on aircraft hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshoots, removes, repairs, overhauls, replaces, adjusts, and tests malfunctioning components.
  • Inspects aircraft hydraulic systems, components and SE.
  • Stores, handles, uses, and disposes of hazardous material and waste according to environmental standards.

Requirements for Hydraulic Specialist

Please be aware this is a Part Time position and requires Military enlistment.

Special Requirements

  • Enlistment in the Air National Guard
  • Normal color vision
  • US citizen / Naturalized
  • 17-40 years old
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Good Physical Condition / Health
  • Additionally, you can only have limited law violations and must pass a background check. All of this is performed as part of the screening process before you can actually join the Air Guard.

Training Provided

Job training consists of 9 weeks, 1 day of classroom instruction, including inspection and repair of aircraft engines and equipment. Course content typically includes

 

  • Hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical principles applying to aircraft and support equipment.
  • Hydraulic Systems.
  • Concepts and applications of maintenance directives.
  • Using and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical publications.
  • Proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
