SUMMARY: This position is responsible for yields, product cost, product quality, operating efficiency, safety, and governmental compliance in a state-of-the art, computer controlled, real-time environment production plant. This position requires an essential understanding and control of the production process, accurate/electronic record keeping, general line maintenance/technical skills, and supervisory skills. Specific responsibilities include executing daily production orders to minimize standard product cost and production rate variances, ensuring fulfillment of sales orders, development of a daily line staffing plan (job rotation, cross-training, labor cost minimization/efficiency), overseeing/facilitating the ergonomic program, operating the plant production control systems, assuring the production of quality product while taking the proper measures of cost controls, and optimize plant/line efficiency by ensuring all machinery is performing to the highest standard possible. Other responsibilities include: inventory management of raw materials, packaging (goods issues, goods receipts, cycle counting), production schedule adherence, labor cost optimization, working with Production Scheduling in the development of production schedules that maximize production and minimize costs, and interfacing with Accounting and ensuring that data collected from the production process is accurate. Additionally, this position is responsible training and optimizing the productivity of the Team Members on the line, employee turnover, communicating company benefits and compensation policies, and providing counseling on personal and professional problems; Other duties include overseeing various plant business processes, working with other managers in solving problems, providing continuous education on plant floor control/computer systems, reinforcing the importance of quality/food safety and plant safety, and performing other responsibilities as the need arises.

Education: Education beyond high school preferred in a technical major such as engineering, animal science, biology, chemistry, computer science, etc. Experience: Depends on level of education obtained. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer Skills: Strong computer skills preferred. For example, Microsoft Office products, ERP systems (SAP-based inventory tracking/maintenance/product costing/purchasing systems (SAP), Quality Management, the ability to learn new software quickly, and creating simple queries using a fourth generation language.Travel: 1-5 trips per year.Supervisory Skills: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform varied tasks or activities.
