Direct Care Staff

We are currently seeking Direct care staff to work Full Time , Part Time or on-call in a group home setting. We have a variety of shifts available in a variety of group homes throughout the greater New Orleans Metro Area, to include southshore, north shore, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne, Lafourche, Washington and St. Charles Parishes.

Direct care staff are the lifeblood of our company. Whether you are taking a client out for pizza and bowling, helping them prepare a meal, or assisting with writing a letter to a family member, you are making a difference! You contribute to helping someone reach their highest level of independence, which is quite a feeling...and a responsibility not to be taken lightly.

Some things our direct care staff do in a day might include:
-Support persons served with their daily living (laundry, finances, recreation, meal preparation, transportation, personal hygiene, house work and chores, grocery shopping, various appointments)
-Foster positive relationships between persons served and their housemates
-Communicate important information with families, supervisors, co-workers and other professionals

-Properly document all services provided on a daily basis
-Ensure proper medication/therapies or other services are provided according to the "service plan" for that individual.

- Follow specific directions to ensure that all clients served reach and maintain optimum levels of mental an physical health.

- Direct Care Staff must be reliable and dedicated to their job.

Minimum age requirement is 18. Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of personnel internal and external to the company. Capable of working responsibly with confidential information.

Must be able to work as a part of a team and independently Must meet all agency requirements for pre-employment as required by ResCare and/or State regulations.

Must be able to attend week long mandatory training. Must have valid LA drivers license. Must be able to pass a criminal background check. Must be caring and dedicated with a strong work ethic.
