Description This multi-functional leadership position will be responsible for directing the exploitation of current and future unconventional shale projects within the domain of the Company's Southern California Region.  This position will manage a small staff of assigned professionals to include Drilling, Reservoir, Completions, Geology and Land disciplines on a direct or project attached relationship.  The role will provide the short and long-term exploitation planning necessary to turn these projects into development acreage for the Company.  The scope of this position will expand as necessary to pursue pertinent development activities.  Except for the occasional management reviews and project related site visits, travel will be minimal.  This position will be based in Southern California and will report to the Senior Vice President.
Requirements Candidates for this position must have extensive experience in unconventional shale plays within a Reservoir Engineering career concentration and having a hands-on involvement or partnership in horizontal drilling and completions activities common to current shale developments.  Background should include significant management/supervisory experience or multi-functional teams that include all or most of the following disciplines:  Reservoir Engineering, Drilling and Completions Engineering, Land and Geology.  The goals of the teams would include successful horizontal/long lateral well drilling with multi-stage frac completions within shale formations.  Candidates should have a PE degree(s) and over fifteen years of relevant exploitations and development work experiences in Exploration & Production companies.  Experience in major shale plays and a USA degree in Petroleum Engineering.
