This position is located near Yakima, WA !!!
We have a unique opportunity for a Community Action Program (CAP) Director to join the Pacific Northwest’s premier community health center. Be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing primary health care and social services to our underserved patients and clients.
The CAP Director will have the opportunity to prove their grant and contract management and supervisory skills by managing: up to 57 grants and contracts, up to 150 employees and managing a budget of up to $10M. You will also have the opportunity to develop relationships across the organization and across the communities we serve.
Working with school districts, businesses and agencies, Northwest Community Action Center (NCAC) provides a host of programs that address the needs of several communities.
These services include employment and training programs for youths and adults, education to improve parenting skills, mentoring and tutoring programs, plus a variety of case management and referral services.
NCAC also has a rental assistant program, an energy assistance program, a home weatherization program, educational programs to promote energy conservation and a program to help families locate qualified childcare services.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Master’s Degree preferred. Exceptional related experience may be substituted for a degree.
Experience: Minimum of 4 years experience in a senior management/leadership capacity required. Experience in building working relationships with governmental agencies, school districts, community groups, and other entities and familiarity with community action programs preferred. Significant experience in managing multiple grants and contracts.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Current Washington State driver’s license and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required: Knowledge of management principles and organizational theory, recruitment, training and development of supervisory staff; personnel management; laws, rules and regulations regarding programs; fiscal accountability, management information systems, labor relations, facilities management; and roles and responsibilities of other YVFWC programs and services. Skills: communicate effectively, public speaking, writing skills, strategic and tactical decision making, negotiating, interpersonal skills, leadership, long and short term planning and implementation, assurance of quality program and fiscal outcomes, and effective interaction with the political and community environment.
