Description
PURPOSE: The Pyschiatric Case Manager I is responsible for ensuring high quality customer service in disability case management, by providing medical expertise and serving as the critical communication link between all parties involved in medical disability cases. The Pyschiatric Case Manager I recognizes the importance of work, its financial, social, and psychosocial implications, and views return-to-work as a primary goal for Reed Group clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Demonstrate adherence to Reed Group, Ltd. values and performance guidelines.
2. Assist employee-client in making informed choices via patient advocacy in alignment with the Medical Disability Advisor and laws regulating disability management.
3. Provide high quality customer service by demonstrating diplomacy, compassion and professional competency.
4. Liaison between all parties required in case management to facilitate continuous communication and consensus.
5. Provide documentation, feedback, and reports to diverse occupational populations with an underlying emphasis on returning medically able individuals to productive endeavor.
6. Manage caseload efficiently, organize priorities, provide timely intervention and maintain sensitivity to confidential records.
7. Ensure quality standards for case management are met. Implement Reed Group’s continuous quality improvement process whenever efficiencies or quality standards are not met.
OTHER DUTIES:
1. Attend department and company meetings.
2. Provide support to peers as needed.
3. Other duties as required.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of 5 years medical advisory experience preferably in occupational health, workers’ compensation, or disability case management.
· LCSW or Registered Nurse (RN) in State of NY
· Valid state license, professional registrations and certifications will be current and in compliance with state and national requirements, and will be supported by continuing education.
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
· Advanced knowledge of medical documentation
· Intermediate to advanced level of computer experience.
· Telephonic experience
