Neustar (NYSE: NSR) provides the North American communications industry with essential clearinghouse services. We operate the authoritative directories that manage virtually all telephone area codes and numbers, and enable the dynamic routing of calls among thousands of competing communications service providers (CSPs) in the United States and Canada. All telecommunications service providers (TSPs), as well as CSPs that offer telecommunications services to the public at large, must access our clearinghouse as one of our customers to properly route virtually all of their calls. We also provide clearinghouse services to emerging CSPs, including Internet service providers, cable television operators, and voice over Internet protocol, or VoIP, service providers. In addition, we manage the authoritative directories for the .us and .biz Internet domains, as well as for Common Short Codes, part of the short messaging service, or SMS, relied upon by the U.S. wireless industry.
Legal Compliance Support Clerks-Multiple Openings
Under general supervision provides support to the legal compliance analyst team engaging in Records Productions and Annoyance and Harassing Calls Program (AHCP) activities through clerical support, office management and other related activities.
Responsibilities:
- Queries, retrieves & formats the appropriate customer records and subscriber information, review records produced for accuracy, responsiveness, and completeness. (40%)
- Supports the Records production team by performing clerical activities such as data entry, managing files and other related activities (20%)
- Performs minimal review of various forms of lawful process in criminal investigations and civil proceedings, including subpoenas, court orders, and search warrants. (10%)
- Convert all legal processes and related documentation received from client archives repositories into an electronic format. (10%)
- Answer status inquiries and civil compliance due date issues on a Tier 1 Level and forward to the assigned LCA and/or Legal Compliance Manager when appropriate. (10%)
- Transmits records to the law enforcement agency or attorney issuing the lawful process. (10%)
Requirements
Experience in telecom industry.
Strong customer focus.
Excellent communication & analytical skills.
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Strong customer focus required due to daily customer contact.
Commitment to maintain the confidentiality of the matters handled.
Ability to understand and apply general and specific policies and procedures as well as applicable federal, state, and local policies, laws, and regulations.
IT Skills:
- Familiarity with web based GUI applications.
- Familiarity with carrier billing system.
- Ability to compile and maintain complex and extensive records.
