Maintenance Technician

Are you interested in a challenging position with a growing Property Management Company?

We currently have positions available for Maintenance Technicians at a large apartment community in Garfield Heights.

Duties and Responsibilities

We currently have positions available for Maintenance Technicians at a large apartment community in Garfield Heights.
  • Provide maintenance and repair services for a specific building or set of buildings
  • Make ready apartments as necessary, as units vacate
  • Interact with supervisor on a daily basis as to maintenance status and new maintenance requests
  • Fill out appropriate paperwork as necessary, (i.e. work orders, parts requests, etc.)
  • Be available to abate emergencies on a 24x7 basis
  • Requirements Education / Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Less than 1 year of previous work experience
  • Painting and carpentry experience required
  • HVAC experience helpful, boiler experience a plus


    Skills:
    Ability to perform the following to make apartment units available for rent and for ongoing interior and exterior maintenance: (not limited to this list)

  • Clean out of vacated apartment units
  • Repair / Replace water heaters
  • Minor carpentry work
  • Clean Carpets
  • Repair / Replace wall and floor tile
  • Hanging interior, exterior and screen doors
  • Rescreen doors and windows as necessary
  • Repair plumbing leaks and piping
  • Unclog drains as necessary
  • Repair / Replace toilets, sinks, faucets, shower heads etc
  • Replace outlets, light fixtures, ceiling fans, smoke detectors etc
  • Install disposals, dishwashers, stoves, exhaust fans etc
  • Painting apartments and exterior when necessary
  • Grounds cleanup
  • Lock maintenance and locksmithing
  • You will be required to supply a basic tool set
  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of personalities in interacting with customers, vendors and supervisors
  • Must work in a manner that is safe for both the maintenance personnel as well as others
  • Must use proper Personal Protective Equipment when necessary
