Job Location: Abingdon, VA

Position Reports to: IT Management


Travel: Minimal Minimal

Job Purpose:

This position will support end users, collect and analyze associated data with the purpose of developing and teaching educational programs toward the continuing goal of raising the technology knowledge level of staff enterprise wide.
 
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

                •  Provide initial front-line IT support for staff.

                •  Maintain ticketing system for IT support.

                •  Elevate/dispatch tickets to appropriate IT resources when necessary for problem resolution.

                •  Analyze data collected from support tickets for trends and end-user weaknesses.

                •  Based on analysis; plan, develop and implement strategy for staff education and development that is consistent with the corporate business and IT strategy.

                •  Monitor, measure, and report on staff education, development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales.

                •  Develop IT support function by selecting, training, and managing staff.

Requirements

 

Required Skills:

  • Teaching skills demonstrated through education or experience.

  • Proficient with software used to develop CBT courses.

  • Microsoft operating systems.

  • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint.

  • General networking knowledge.

  • Hardware troubleshooting.

 

Character Traits and Work Ethic:

  • Must be a motivated, self-driven individual with a results-oriented outlook.
  • Reliable, patient, tolerant, and determined.
  • Well-presented and professional.
  • Analytical and methodical.

Education and Experience Desired:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in education or information technology related field.

  • Teaching experience.

  • Microsoft certification such as MCP is desired.

  • Networking or hardware certifications such as A++ are a plus.
